The training session took place on the field of the Legends Football Academy, about 15 minutes by bus from the Vietnamese team's base. This is a location directly surveyed and chosen by team leader Doan Anh Tuan, with grass quality meeting the professional requirements of the coaching staff.
The weather conditions in Chonburi are quite favorable as the temperature is more pleasant than Hanoi thanks to its proximity to the sea. This factor helps players maintain training intensity during the final preparation stage before the tournament.
Because there were only a few days left before the opening match, the coaching staff focused on practicing tactical moves. Coach Kim Sang-sik continuously followed the exercises closely, and many times proactively stopped the training session to adjust and guide the players to deploy the correct tactical intentions.
Before the training session, midfielder Nguyen Ngoc My shared with the media about the team's preparation process.
I think after more than three weeks of preparation in Hanoi, the training trip in Korea as well as the friendly match with Myanmar, the whole team has almost completed the final preparations to enter the tournament. The brothers trust the coaching staff very much. Each individual will try their best to compete, creating a cohesive team and aiming for the goal of defending the championship," Ngoc My said.
The young midfielder also affirmed that training with seniors in the national team is a valuable opportunity to accumulate experience and improve himself.
As a young player, I determine that this is an opportunity to learn and improve my experience more. The coaching staff will evaluate based on what the players show on the field to choose the most suitable squad. If given the opportunity, I will try to perform really well," Ngoc My said.
According to the plan, the Vietnamese team will continue to train in Chonburi to complete preparations before the confrontation with the Timor-Leste team in the opening match of the ASEAN Cup 2026 group stage on July 24.
