The final match took place at King Abdullah Sports City Hall (Saudi Arabia) between the two leading youth teams in the continent. U17 Japan soon showed superior class when controlling the game and leading 3-0 in the first half.
In the 31st minute, U17 Japan opened the score thanks to Tafuku Satomi's diagonal shot after a personal breakthrough. In the 41st minute, Kakeru Saito doubled the gap after a mistake by the opponent's defense. Before the first half ended, Maki Kitahara scored to increase the score to 3-0 in the 45+1 minute, bringing the team from the land of the rising sun very close to the championship.
In the second half, U17 China strongly rose up. In the 48th minute, Wan Xiang narrowed the score to 1-3 after a quick attacking combination. In the 77th minute, the red team was awarded a penalty after a foul in the penalty area and Zhao Songyuan successfully converted it, bringing the match back to drama with a score of 2-3.
In the remaining minutes, U17 China poured all their strength into attack to find an equalizer, but the U17 Japan goalkeeper played excellently in decisive situations, preserving a 3-2 victory.
This result helped U17 Japan win the Asian U17 Championship for the 5th time (1994, 2006, 2018, 2023, 2026), continuing to be the most successful team in the tournament. Meanwhile, U17 China, despite the defeat, still had a noteworthy journey when they reached the final after an impressive series of matches from the quarter-finals to the semi-finals.
