In the afternoon of July 13, Group C of the 2026 National U21 Championship finals kicked off at PVF Youth Football Training Center with two matches between U21 Da Nang vs U21 Hanoi Police and U21 PVF vs U21 Dong Nai.
In the first match, U21 Da Nang and U21 Hanoi Police entered the game cautiously, creating a balanced game in the first half. Both teams mainly competed in the midfield area and did not create many dangerous opportunities, closing the first 45 minutes with a 0-0 draw.
Stepping into the second half, the pace of the match was pushed higher. In the 63rd minute, U21 Da Nang broke the deadlock after a quick attacking combination. Van Lanh escaped to finish but could not beat the opponent's goalkeeper, before Ngo Duy rushed in to volley close range, opening the score 1-0.
Conceding a goal, U21 Hanoi Police pushed up the squad to find an equalizer and got what they needed in the 79th minute. Taking advantage of the opponent's mistake of losing the ball in their own half, the police team organized a quick counter-attack, creating conditions for Khanh Hoang to finish accurately, equalizing the score 1-1.
However, U21 Da Nang was still the team that took advantage of the opportunity better at the decisive moment. In the 88th minute, from a corner kick on the right wing, Van Tho jumped high to head in a goal, sealing a 2-1 victory for the Central region representative.
In the remaining match, U21 PVF showed the strength of one of the championship candidates when defeating U21 Dong Nai with a score of 4-0.
The home team controlled the game for most of the match time and successively scored four goals thanks to Phung Quang Tu, Bui Duy Dang, Tran Quang Khanh and Vu Ky.
With this result, U21 PVF temporarily leads Group C after the first match thanks to a better goal difference than U21 Da Nang. Meanwhile, U21 Cong An Ha Noi and U21 Dong Nai have not scored before entering the second match.
