According to statistics from the transfer news site, the team of 25 players registered by coach Kim Sang-sik to participate in the tournament has a total estimated value of about 3.48 million euros (equivalent to more than 107 billion VND). This is the valuation that helps U23 Vietnam rank 10th out of 16 teams participating in the final round.
In this list, Nguyen Dinh Bac, Bui Vi Hao and Khuat Van Khang are the 3 players with the highest market value, all valued at 300,000 euros per person. Most of the remaining players are regularly playing in the V.League or domestic professional leagues, thereby having a stable valuation.
Compared to U23 Vietnam, U23 Thailand is only valued at about 1.45 million euros, less than half of the total team value of the Vietnamese representative. According to experts, the reason comes from the fact that the Golden Temple team did not bring the strongest force to Saudi Arabia, while many of their young players have not been fully updated in value.
Looking at the whole tournament, U23 Saudi Arabia is the team with the highest squad value with about 12.15 million euros, followed by Iran (9.13 million euros), China (8.5 million euros), South Korea (7 million euros) and Japan (6.6 million euros). In the opposite direction, U23 Syria is the team with the lowest value, only about 1.1 million euros.
The squad value is only for reference, not fully reflecting the actual strength. Typically, in the case of U23 Japan, when many players are playing for university teams, they have not been valued, or some young reserve players at big clubs have not been updated in time.
With U23 Vietnam, the relatively positive valuation partly shows the progress in personnel in recent years. However, the results on the field are still the most important measure to assess the capacity and ambition of coach Kim Sang-sik's team at the 2026 AFC U23 Championship finals.
