Update on gasoline and oil prices on August 1st: At the end of the weekend trading session, world oil prices simultaneously increased.

At 5:40 PM on August 1, 2026, world gasoline and oil prices simultaneously increased. Accordingly, WTI oil price was at 84.67 USD/barrel, up 1.08 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 1.29%. In the last trading session of the week, the market was supported after information emerged that some oil tankers had to turn around when passing through the Strait of Hormuz, raising concerns about the risk of disruption of transportation through one of the world's most important oil shipping routes.

The world gasoline and oil market in the past week's operating period was affected by key factors such as: Conflict between the US and Iran temporarily cooled down but then showed signs of re-emerging; Iran continued to attack some ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz; military conflict showed signs of spreading in the Middle East region when the US, Saudi Arabia and Iranian-backed armed groups in Iraq had mutual attacks; military conflict between Russia and Ukraine continued, focusing on energy facilities, oil refineries...

The above factors have caused world finished gasoline and oil prices in recent days to increase and decrease depending on the item.
