Pre-match information
Immediately after arriving in Thailand and stabilizing their base, coach Diego Raul Giustozzi and his team entered the first training session to get acquainted with the competition conditions and complete the preparations for the tournament.
The training session took place in a positive atmosphere as the players just closed the 2026 national futsal championship season. Maintaining the feeling of the ball, physical foundation and rhythm of competition helps the coaching staff to be more convenient in deploying professional content as well as perfecting the playing style in a short time.
In the training session on July 31, coach Diego Raul Giustozzi mainly practiced tactical coordination exercises, strengthened the cohesion between positions and tested personnel options for the confrontation with the Russian team.
The 2026 Thailand Continental Championship friendly tournament gathers 5 teams including host Thailand, Russia, Afghanistan, New Zealand and Vietnam. The teams compete in a single round-robin format to determine the overall ranking.
This is considered a quality practice opportunity for the Vietnamese futsal team when continuously facing high-level teams. Through the tournament, the coaching staff will have more basis to assess the force, improve the squad and playing style, towards important goals in the international arena in the coming time.
In the opening match, the Russian team is considered a very strong opponent. Therefore, this encounter will be an important test for the Vietnamese futsal team to assess their tactical operation ability as well as the connection between positions before the next challenges at the tournament.
