Accordingly, WTI oil price was at 103.71 USD/barrel, down 0.67 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 0.64%. Brent oil was at 110.68 USD/barrel, down 1.42 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 1.27%.
In Tuesday's trading session, with oil prices falling across the board after US President Donald Trump announced he had temporarily suspended plans to attack Iran to facilitate negotiations to end the war in the Middle East.
Earlier on Monday, President Trump posted on social media that he was postponing a planned military attack on Tuesday while efforts to reach an agreement with Iran continued, adding that the United States is ready to resume the attacks if no agreement is reached.
Domestically, the selling prices of popular consumer gasoline and oil items on the market on May 19 are as follows:
- E5RON92 gasoline: not higher than 23,134 VND/liter (down 656 VND/liter compared to the current maximum selling price), lower than RON95-III gasoline by 944 VND/liter;
- RON95-III gasoline: not higher than 24,078 VND/liter (down 276 VND/liter compared to the current maximum selling price);
- Diesel oil 0.05S: not higher than 27, 226 VND/liter (down 268 VND/liter compared to the current maximum selling price);
- 180CST 3.5S mazut oil: not higher than 20, 585 VND/kg (down 587 VND/kg compared to the current maximum selling price).
Retail gasoline and oil prices in Vietnam are currently significantly lower than in many neighboring countries sharing a border. The Ministry of Industry and Trade - Ministry of Finance is continuing to closely monitor market developments to announce gasoline and oil prices appropriately, in accordance with directives and promptly propose to the Government and the Prime Minister solutions to stabilize gasoline and oil prices.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade will coordinate with functional agencies to inspect and supervise the implementation of responsibilities to ensure gasoline and oil supply to the market by gasoline and oil traders and will strictly handle violations (if any).
In addition, the country is also promoting the roadmap for applying E10 gasoline from June 1.
According to the Domestic Market Management and Development Department, implementing the roadmap for applying the blending ratio of biofuels with traditional fuels in Vietnam according to Circular No. 50/2025/TT-BCT dated November 7, 2025 of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, in order to ensure the synchronous and effective implementation of the E10 biofuel roadmap, avoiding delays or disruptions of supply that affect the market, local Departments of Industry and Trade coordinate to implement many key tasks.
From now until the end of May 31, 2026, localities need to promote propaganda, raise awareness of complying with the roadmap for switching to E10 gasoline of gasoline and oil businesses; and at the same time widely disseminate information about the safety and benefits of E10 bio-gasoline to create consensus among consumers in the area.
