On May 19, Long Truong Ward Police (HCMC) said they are investigating and clarifying the cause of the fire that occurred at Safira Khang Dien apartment building located on Vo Chi Cong street (section near Lien Phuong roundabout).
Initial information, at about 3 pm on the same day, smoke and fire suddenly rose from an apartment on the 7th floor, tower C of this apartment building. As soon as a fire was detected, the building's fire alarm system was activated continuously. Hearing shouts, hundreds of residents living in tower C panicked, taking their young children and elderly people, quickly moving by stairs to escape to the ground floor lobby.

At this time, the on-site fire fighting force of the apartment building management board quickly approached the burned apartment, deploying initial fire extinguishing equipment to limit the fire from spreading to adjacent apartments.
Upon receiving the news, the Fire and Rescue Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police immediately dispatched specialized fire trucks and officers and soldiers to the scene to coordinate in extinguishing the fire.
Thanks to the timely access of professional forces, just a few minutes after deploying the rescue plan, the fire was controlled and completely extinguished. Fortunately, the fire did not cause any casualties.
Currently, the case is being investigated and clarified by functional forces.
