World oil prices today
World gasoline and oil prices continue to fluctuate strongly. At the end of the first trading session of the week (May 18), WTI and Brent oil prices increased by 3.1% and 2.6% respectively. In yesterday's session, the market recorded the highest closing price of Brent oil since May 4 and of WTI oil since April 7.
By this morning's session, both oil commodities turned down. At 7:41 am (Vietnam time), WTI oil price was at 102.45 USD/barrel, down 1.93 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 1.85%. WTI oil price closed the previous trading session at 104.38 USD/barrel and opened this morning's session at 102.31 USD/barrel.
Brent oil price was at 109.21 USD/barrel, down 0.1 USD/barrel, equivalent to a decrease of 0.09%. Brent oil price closed the previous trading session at 109.31 USD/barrel and opened this morning's session at 109.33 USD/barrel.
According to analysts, global commercial oil inventories are decreasing rapidly, only enough to meet demand for a few weeks as wars in the Middle East continue to disrupt supply from the Gulf region, despite efforts by many countries to release strategic reserves.
Concerns about energy shortages are increasing as the summer travel season in the Northern Hemisphere approaches. Many airlines warn that the world may face the risk of flight fuel shortages in the next few weeks if the supply chain continues to break down.
Experts believe that expectations for a diplomatic solution to the conflict between the US and Iran are currently almost unchanged compared to mid-March - when WTI oil prices were also around the current level.
Domestic gasoline prices today
On May 19, retail gasoline and oil prices according to the price list announced by Petrolimex in region 1 and region 2 are as follows:
The retail price of gasoline and oil in the country mentioned above was adjusted by the inter-ministry of Industry and Trade - Finance from 3 pm on May 14.
According to this adjustment period, gasoline and oil prices simultaneously decreased. E5RON92 gasoline decreased by 656 VND/liter, RON95 gasoline decreased by 276 VND/liter, diesel oil decreased by 268 VND/liter and mazut oil decreased by 587 VND/kg.
