According to a survey at 9:13 PM on February 25, world gasoline and oil prices simultaneously increased. WTI oil price was at 65.86 USD/barrel, up 0.23 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 0.35%. Brent oil was at 70.96 USD/barrel, up 0.38 USD/barrel, equivalent to an increase of 0.54%.
The Ministry of Industry and Trade said that the world gasoline and oil market in the operating period last week (from February 12, 2026 - February 19, 2026) was affected by key factors such as: IEA lowered its forecast for global oil demand growth this year; US crude oil inventories increased sharply; tensions between the US and Iran show signs of increasing; OPEC+ expects to increase oil production from April this year; military conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues; peace talks between Russia and Ukraine ended but no compromise was reached... The above factors caused world gasoline and oil prices in recent days to fluctuate up and down depending on each item.
For the domestic market, the gasoline and oil price forecasting model of the Vietnam Petroleum Institute (VPI) forecasts that in the operating period on February 26, retail gasoline and oil prices (excluding mazut oil) may increase by 4.3-4.9% compared to the previous operating period, if the Inter-Ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade does not make or use the gasoline and oil price stabilization fund.
According to VPI data analysts, the retail price of E5 RON 92 gasoline may increase by 910 VND (4.9%) to 19, 540 VND/liter and RON 95-III gasoline may increase by 947 VND (4.9%) to 20,097 VND/liter.
Kerosene prices may also increase by 907 VND (4.9%) to 19,517 VND/liter, diesel prices may increase by 802 VND (4.3%) to 19,322 VND/liter. Meanwhile, mazut oil is forecast to decrease slightly by 0.7% to 15,749 VND/kg. VPI forecasts that the Inter-Ministry of Finance - Industry and Trade this time will continue not to make or spend on the gasoline and oil price stabilization fund.
A representative of a gasoline and oil business said that domestic prices will fluctuate according to the world gasoline and oil situation. According to current market developments, it is predicted that in the next price adjustment period, retail gasoline and oil prices may increase sharply.
In which the forecast: RON 95-III gasoline increased by about 810 VND/liter; E5 RON 92-II gasoline increased by about 730 VND/liter; diesel oil increased by about 770 VND/liter.
In the adjustment session last week on February 20, 2026, gasoline prices simultaneously decreased compared to the price adjustment period last week. In which, E5 RON 92 gasoline is priced at 18,634 VND/liter (down 200 VND/liter). RON 95-III gasoline is priced at 19,152 VND/liter (down 146 VND/liter).
Meanwhile, oil prices simultaneously increased. Diesel oil 0.05S is priced at 18, 525 VND/liter (up 62 VND/liter); kerosene has a new price of 18, 615 VND/liter (up 103 VND/liter); mazut oil 180CST 3.5S is priced at 15, 862 VND/kg (up 293 VND/kg).
In the last week's operating period, the regulator did not make provisions or use the Petroleum Price Stabilization Fund - BOG for all petroleum products.
