At about 3 am on February 26, at km29+300 on the Phan Thiet - Dau Giay expressway, passing through Tan Lap commune, Lam Dong province, 3 consecutive traffic collisions occurred on the South - North road section. The collision locations are about 50m apart.

In the first case, a passenger car suspected of losing control, knocking down about 7 concrete blocks of the hard median strip in the middle of the road. After the collision, the vehicle continued to skid onto the sidewalk, damaging the soft guardrail.

The second collision also involved a passenger car. This vehicle is suspected of losing control, crashing about 8 concrete blocks of the median strip and damaging about 5m of soft guardrail on the side of the road.


The third incident was a chain collision between 5 vehicles including 1 sleeper bus, 1 tractor-trailer, 1 7-seater car and 2 trucks.

At the scene of the 3 collisions, there were 2 passenger cars blocking the road surface. The 7-seater car was deformed in the front. This location is about 2km from the National Highway 55 intersection.

Vehicles traveling in the South - North direction could not move through the accident area, causing prolonged congestion on the route.
Traffic Police forces of Highway Patrol and Control Team No. 6 (Room 6, Traffic Police Department) coordinated with the route management unit to be present at the scene, remotely divert traffic and regulate traffic.
Vehicles heading South - North are instructed to leave the expressway at DT. 720 intersection.

Functional agencies have conducted scene examination to clarify the causes of the collisions.
Rescue trucks were mobilized to rescue the damaged vehicles and clear the road surface after completing the investigation.
