In the letter, Member of the Party Central Committee, Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan wrote:
On the occasion of the 71st anniversary of Vietnamese Doctors' Day (February 27, 1955 – February 27, 2026), on behalf of the Ministry of Health, I would like to send to the entire team of doctors, officials, and medical staff nationwide my warmest regards, deep gratitude, and best wishes.
Over more than seven decades of construction and growth, Vietnam's health sector has continuously grown stronger along with the country's development. Whether in war or peace circumstances, in critical epidemic times or in the face of the country's renovation requirements, the team of doctors and health workers always maintains the spirit of responsibility and dedication to people's health. The results achieved in the past time are proof of the bravery, intelligence and silent contributions of each health official.
2026 is of particular importance, this is the starting year of a new term, the first year of implementing the Resolution of the 14th Party Congress; the Resolutions of the Politburo, especially Resolution No. 72-NQ/TW of the Politburo on a number of breakthrough solutions, strengthening the protection, care and improvement of people's health, along with the Resolutions of the National Assembly on the socio-economic development plan for the period 2026-2030 and the Resolutions and action programs of the Government.
These major orientations set higher requirements for the health sector in comprehensive innovation, improving the quality, effectiveness and efficiency of operations, better meeting the requirements of protecting, caring for and improving people's health in the new development stage.
To implement the above tasks, the health sector continues to focus on consolidating grassroots health and preventive health; improving the quality of medical examination and treatment; perfecting institutions and policies; promoting digital transformation; health financial reform, developing sustainable health insurance; doing well in population work, food safety work; ensuring fairness in accessing health services.
This is not only a professional task, but also the political responsibility of the entire sector in contributing to the successful implementation of the country's development goals in the new period.
Faced with that requirement, each official, doctor, and medical staff needs to continue to promote the good traditions of the industry; maintain medical ethics, improve professional qualifications; innovate service style and attitude; put patients and people's health at the center of all activities.
Each medical facility needs to build a united, disciplined, professional, and transparent working environment; proactively adapt to the requirements of digital transformation and international integration.
We believe that, with the solidarity, responsibility and aspiration to contribute of the entire sector, the health sector will strive to perform well the tasks of 2026, contributing to building an increasingly modern, fair, efficient and sustainable Vietnamese health system, meeting the trust and expectations of the Party and people.
On this occasion, once again, I cordially wish all officials, civil servants, public employees, workers of the health sector and their families good health, happiness and success.
Sincerely!
