Forecast of gasoline prices next week in the new management period

Thạch Lam |

It is forecasted that in the operating period next week, gasoline prices may continue to increase.

According to a survey at 15:33 on April 26 (Vietnam time), WTI oil price increased by 0.23 USD/barrel (up 0.37%), to 63.02 USD/barrel. Brent oil price increased by 0.32 USD/barrel (up 0.48%), to 66.87 USD/barrel.

"Traders are currently under concerns about further increases in crude oil prices in the short term," said Ole Hansen, an analyst at Saxo Bank. Because the trade war continues between the world's leading oil consuming countries. Additional speculation is that OPEC+ could accelerate production increases from June.

Oil prices fell earlier this month to a four-year low after tariffs raised investors' concerns about global demand and a wave of sell-offs in financial markets.

Although there is a risk that a weak economy will reduce demand, supply may increase. The end of the war in Ukraine is also likely to increase supply if this allows more Russian oil to reach the global market.

According to the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the world petroleum market last week (from April 17, 2025 to April 23, 2025) was affected by main factors such as: EIA reported that US crude oil reserves increased, gasoline and distillate inventories decreased; US changed tax rates on goods of trading partners; OPEC+ oil output is expected to increase in the coming time; military conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues...

The above factors have caused world oil prices in recent days to fluctuate depending on the commodity, but the general trend is to increase.

According to a representative of a petroleum business, domestic petroleum prices will fluctuate according to the world petroleum situation. According to current market developments, it is forecasted that in the next price adjustment period, retail prices of gasoline may increase.

In particular, RON 95 gasoline price may increase by about 100-250 VND/liter; E5 gasoline may increase by about 0-200 VND/liter; Diesel oil increases by about 0-100 VND/liter.

Domestic retail gasoline prices on April 26, 2025 will be applied according to the adjustment session from 3:00 p.m. on April 24 of the Ministry of Finance - Ministry of Industry and Trade.

In the adjustment session on April 24, the price of E5 RON 92 gasoline increased compared to the previous adjustment period, priced at VND 19,238/liter (up VND 740/liter). RON 95-III gasoline price increased compared to the previous adjustment period, at VND19,638/liter (up VND782/liter).

Prices of oil products increased simultaneously. Of which, diesel 0.05S is priced at VND17,524/liter (up VND487/liter); kerosene has a new price of VND17,715/liter (up VND531/liter); mazut is priced at VND16,524/kg (up VND564/kg).
