On April 26, the People's Council of Da Nang City approved a project to merge Quang Nam province and Da Nang city. There are currently a total of 4,291 working headquarters and career facilities in Da Nang and Quang Nam. Of which, Da Nang has 1,681 facilities and Quang Nam has 2,610 facilities. After the merger, the working headquarters of provincial departments, branches and sectors will be located at the Da Nang City Administrative Center, combined with the use of some vacant houses and land in the area.
At the same time, some agencies will continue to operate in Tam Ky city (Quang Nam) to support people in the southern region, creating favorable conditions for businesses and ensuring timely response to natural disasters. This arrangement is to make the most of existing facilities, avoiding wasting resources.
For surplus headquarters, the project proposes to convert the function into schools, medical facilities, cultural and sports centers, community activity places or public facilities in remote areas. Headquarters that no longer need to be used will be handled according to the provisions of the law on management and use of public assets.
For commune, ward and town-level headquarters, due to the current large number, especially in Quang Nam (247 headquarters compared to the 78 administrative units expected after the arrangement), the project aims to continue using existing headquarters, prioritizing convenient criteria for people and minimizing waste. The surplus headquarters will be converted to serve other public activities such as police headquarters, military command boards, medical stations, schools, etc.
At the same time, the project also mentioned the rearrangement of 760 public cars of the two localities (Da Nang: 470 cars, Quang Nam: 290 cars). The title vehicle will continue to be arranged as prescribed. Public vehicles serving the provincial general work will be allocated to administrative agencies, the Party, the Fatherland Front and mass organizations. District public vehicles will be re -arranged for grassroots level. Specialized vehicles will continue to be used for the right purpose.
