World coffee prices
arabica coffee in September (KCU25) closed on Friday up+1.55 (+3.88%) and Robusta ICE coffee in September (RMU25) closed up +143 (+4.18%).
Today, international exchanges will be off, but last week, prices of arabica in New York and robusta in London both increased sharply.
Arabica is supported by ICE- trackbed inventories falling to a multi-month low, along with concerns about tight supply.
Robusta still maintains good purchasing power thanks to dry weather information in Brazil and Vietnam - the two largest robusta exporters in the world.
The increase in the Brazilian real this week also limited farmers' sales, contributing to keeping prices high.
In addition, the coffee harvest progress in Brazil has reached over 90% of the area, of which Robusta is almost completed. Although the 2025/26 crop year output is forecast to increase, Volcafe's forecast shows that the arabica market is still short of about 8.5 million bags - the fifth consecutive year of the deficit.
