Domestic coffee prices
In Dak Lak, coffee prices are at 103,800 VND/kg; Gia Lai 103,600 VND/kg; Lam Dong 103,500 VND/kg; growing areas in the old Dak Nong (now merged into Lam Dong) hold the highest level of 104,000 VND/kg.
Compared to the beginning of 2025 (119,000 - 119,800 VND/kg), coffee prices are currently about 15,200 - 16,000 VND/kg lower. Compared to the same period in 2024 (103,800 VND/kg), the price is almost equivalent.
From August 4 to now, domestic coffee prices have increased by about 4,300 - 4,600 VND/kg, when at the beginning of last week, they only fluctuated between 99,200 - 99,500 VND/kg.
World coffee prices
Last week, both arabica on the New York Stock Exchange and Robusta in London closed the week in green. Arabica futures for September 2025 increased sharply thanks to inventories falling to a 14.5-month low, along with concerns about dry weather in Minas Gerais - the largest arabica growing region in Brazil. Robusta benefits from high demand and unfavorable weather information in Vietnam, according to Barchat.com.
The Brazilian real rose to a one-month high, limiting farmers' sales, helping to keep coffee prices high. However, the coffee harvest progress in Brazil has reached over 90% of the area, in which Robusta is almost completed, which could create short-term supply pressure.
Domestic supply in Vietnam is limited due to high exports. According to statistics, in the first 7 months of the year, coffee exports reached about 1.05 million tons, equivalent to more than 6 billion USD, higher than the total export value for the whole year of 2024. Dry weather in the Central Highlands and Brazil continues to be a factor supporting prices, while inventories on international exchanges have decreased, increasing concerns about supply shortages.
