Domestic pepper prices: Third consecutive week of price increases
As of 11:30 today (17.), domestic pepper prices are trading in the range of 140,000 - 143,000 VND/kg, an average increase of 800 VND/kg compared to last week depending on the region.
Pepper prices in Dak Lak and Lam Dong recorded an increase of VND 1,000/kg, reaching VND 143,000/kg. These are currently the 2 provinces with the highest purchasing prices in the country.
Other localities such as Gia Lai and Ho Chi Minh City also increased by VND 1,000/kg, commonly at VND 141,000/kg.
Dong Nai province alone, after many sessions of alternating increases and decreases, closed the trading floor at the end of the week at 140,000 VND/kg, unchanged from the closing price of the previous week.

World pepper prices: Developments in the same direction
According to the International Pepper Company (IPC), Indonesia's black pepper prices closed last week at 7,208 USD/ton, up 61 USD/ton compared to last week. At the same time of the survey, the price of Indonesian white pepper increased by 85 USD/ton last week, reaching 10,076 USD/ton.
Similarly, the price of ASTA Malaysia black pepper last week increased by 150 USD/ton, to 9,400 USD/ton. Notably, Malaysia ASTA white pepper prices increased by 200 USD/ton, to 12,700 USD/ton.
Meanwhile, the price of Brazilian ASTA 570 black pepper decreased by 150 USD/ton, down to 5,850 USD/ton, the lowest level on the market.
In particular, black pepper exported by Vietnam remained unchanged for the whole week at 6,240 - 6,370 USD/ton for the 500 g/l and 550 g/l types. Vietnam's white sugar remains stable at 8,950 USD/ton.
