Domestic pepper prices: Southwest slightly decreased
As of 11:30 today (16.), the domestic pepper market in Ho Chi Minh City has decreased slightly, averaging 141,600 VND/kg, down 200 VND. Currently, the price still fluctuates between 141,000 - 143,000 VND/kg.
Purchasing pepper at the lowest price is Ho Chi Minh City when this area decreased by VND 1,000/kg to VND 140,000/kg.
simultaneously listed at 141,000 VND/kg are Gia Lai and Dong Nai provinces.
Dak Lak and Lam Dong provinces continue to be the two provinces with the highest pepper purchasing prices in the country, launched on the market at 143,000 VND/kg.
According to the latest data from the Vietnam Pepper and Spices Association (VPSA), by the end of July, China ranked third in Vietnam's pepper export market with a volume of 10,982 tons, up 36.2% over the same period last year and accounting for 7.6% of total exports of the industry.
It is expected that in the last 6 months of the year, China will continue to increase imports from Vietnam but it will be difficult to repeat the massive purchase level of 2023, partly due to price competition from Indonesia - a country that has exported to China. This poses a clearer requirement for flexible prices and delivery strategies suitable for fluctuations in demand at each stage.
