Domestic pepper prices
As of 11:30 AM today (September 17), domestic pepper prices remained unchanged, averaging 138,300 VND/kg. Currently, the listed price range is in the range of 137,000 - 141,000 VND/kg.
At the end of the recent transaction, Gia Lai and Dong Nai continued to hold together at the threshold of 137,000 VND/kg.
Similarly, Ho Chi Minh City put it on the market at a price of 137,500 VND/kg.
Dak Lak area, after a sudden decrease of 1,000 VND/kg, continued to maintain a price of 139,000 VND/kg.
In Lam Dong, pepper prices are currently at the highest level in the whole region at 141,000 VND/kg.
Compared to this time in July, the average domestic pepper price is 100 VND/kg lower, and there has been no breakthrough to 140,000 VND/kg.
World pepper price
In the world market, pepper prices maintain a stable state in all countries. Indonesia's black and white peppers are no exception, trading in the range of 6,939 - 9,500 USD/ton (equivalent to 181,317 VND/kg - 248,235 VND/kg).
Meanwhile, the price of Brazilian black pepper sold to the market is 5,750 USD/ton (about 150,248 VND/kg). Black and white Malaysian peppers still maintain the same price range, trading at high prices, respectively 12,200 USD/ton and 9,300 USD/ton.
Notably, in Vietnam's pepper export market, after many days of sideways movement, black pepper prices of 500 g/l and 550 g/l traded at 6,070 - 6,130 USD/ton. ASTA white pepper price offered for sale at 8,450 USD/ton (equivalent to 220,799 VND/kg).
Assessments and forecasts
According to statistics from the Customs Department, Vietnam's pepper exports in August 2026 reached 22.7 thousand tons, worth 147.63 million USD, down 0.5% in volume and down 1.2% in value compared to July 2026, but up 6.0% in volume and up 5.3% in value compared to August 2025.
In general, in the first 8 months of 2026, Vietnam's pepper exports reached 191.53 thousand tons, worth 1.25 billion USD, an increase of 15.3% in volume and 10.4% in value compared to the same period in 2025.
The average export price of Vietnamese pepper in August 2026 was 6,492 USD/ton, down 0.8% compared to July 2026 and down 0.7% compared to August 2025.
In general, in the first 8 months of 2026, the average export price of pepper was 6, 510 USD/ton, down 4.3% compared to the same period in 2025.
The fact that export prices continue to be lower than the same period last year shows that the supply of pepper in the world market is more abundant, while import demand in some major markets has not recovered steadily, making it difficult to maintain a high price level like in 2025.
