Domestic pepper prices: Deep decrease
As of 11:30 today (October 24), the domestic pepper market is stablely covered in red, at an average of 142,400 VND/kg. Currently, the price ranges from 142,000 - 143,000 VND/kg.
Gia Lai province today listed 142,000 VND/kg, down 2,000 VND/kg compared to the previous session's closing price. This is the lowest price in the region.
The same price is Ho Chi Minh City, Dong Nai when recording a sharp decrease of 3,500 VND/kg, to the price of 142,000 VND/kg.
Lam Dong and Dak Lak are no exception when the momentum decreased by VND3,000/kg, setting the price threshold of VND143,000/kg.
Compared to the same time last week (October 17), the average domestic pepper price has decreased by VND 3,200/kg, showing a downward trend.
World pepper prices: fluctuations in Indonesia
In the world market, pepper prices are mostly stable at the end of the week. In particular, the Indonesian exchange - one of the most vibrant markets - maintained a price decline of 0.01% and 0.02%. Currently, these two items are traded between 7,229 - 10,085 USD/ton (equivalent to 190,499 VND/kg - 265,760 VND/kg).
On the other hand, the Brazilian market is flat, currently holding at 6,100 USD/ton (about 160,748 VND/kg). In the same direction, black and white pepper were stable, trading at 12,500 USD/ton and 9,500 USD/ton, respectively.
In the pepper export market of Vietnam, the price of black pepper of 500 g/l and 550 g/l is flat, anchored at 6,400 - 6,600 USD/ton. ASTA white pepper prices remain high, currently standing at 9,050 USD/ton (equivalent to 238,486 VND/kg).

Assessment and forecast
According to preliminary statistics from the Vietnam Pepper and Spices Association (VPSA), in the first 15 days of October 2025, Vietnam exported 9,056 tons of pepper, with an export turnover of 69.9 million USD, compared to the same period in September, the export volume decreased by 14.1% and the turnover decreased by 13.6%. From the beginning of the year to October 15, 2025, Vietnam exported 71.1 thousand tons of pepper, with a turnover of 1.33 billion USD.
In the long term, the pepper market still has many positive signals as Vietnam continues to maintain its position as the world's largest pepper exporting country, while factors such as climate change, increased production costs and recovery in global consumer demand are creating conditions for pepper prices to remain high.
