Domestic pepper prices: Stabilized
As of 11:30 am today (January 9), domestic pepper prices maintained a stable state in all areas, averaging at 151,500 VND/kg. Currently, key areas are trading in the range of 151,000 - 152,500 VND/kg.
Maintaining a standing state, the pepper price list of regions is currently as follows:
Gia Lai and Dong Nai provinces listed at prices of 150,000 VND/kg and 150,000 VND/kg respectively.
Ho Chi Minh City is anchored at the threshold of 151,500 VND/kg.
Dak Lak and Lam Dong are the two provinces with the highest prices, offering to the market at the milestone of 152,500 VND/kg.
World pepper prices: Strong fluctuations
In the world market, pepper prices increased and decreased interspersed in countries. The Indonesian exchange - one of the most vibrant markets is no exception. These two items traded in the range of 6,736 - 9,169 USD/ton (equivalent to 177,703 VND/kg - 241,888 VND/kg), respectively down 10 USD/ton and 13 USD/ton.
Meanwhile, the Brazilian market unexpectedly raised prices by another 50 USD/ton, currently at 6,200 USD/ton (about 163,563 VND/kg). In the opposite direction, black and white pepper remain unchanged, trading at 12,000 USD/ton and 9,000 USD/ton.
Notably, in Vietnam's pepper export market, black pepper prices of 500 g/l and 550 g/l simultaneously increased by 100 USD/ton, trading in the price range of 6,600 - 6,800 USD/ton. At the same increase, ASTA white pepper price is currently at 9,350 USD/ton (equivalent to 246,663 VND/kg).

Perspectives and forecasts
The stagnation of pepper prices is a normal development after strong increases in the week. Export businesses, after gathering enough urgent goods, have begun to slow down the purchasing pace to wait for signals from the world market and the new harvest season is about to blossom after the Lunar New Year.
After a series of unchanged days, the international market has witnessed price increases from the Brazilian market and Vietnam's exports.
For the whole year 2025, Brazil's total pepper export volume reached 83,027 tons, turnover reached 517.8 million USD, compared to 2024, export volume increased by 34.6%, turnover increased by 81.1% and compared to 2023, export volume increased by 2.9%, turnover increased by 105.3%.
According to preliminary statistics from the Vietnam Pepper and Spice Plant Association, in 2025 Vietnam exported 247,482 tons of pepper of all kinds, of which black pepper reached 212,279 tons, white pepper reached 35,203 tons.
