Notably, in Vietnam's pepper export market, the price of black pepper of 500 g/l and 550 g/l maintains a price range of 6,500 - 6,700 USD/ton. The current ASTA white pepper price is at 9,250 USD/ton (equivalent to 243,988 VND/kg).

Perspectives and forecasts
According to analysts, pepper prices this week are dominated by 2 main factors. First, the price list is influenced by demand near Tet when purchasing power from the domestic and Chinese markets usually increases during this period, which may help prices stay stable or increase slightly.
There is only about a month left until Vietnam enters the peak harvest season (after the Lunar New Year). New supply pressure may cause price increases to be curbed.
Meanwhile, global inventories are at a low level, and the developments of pepper prices in the medium and long term are still considered positive.
