On the afternoon of January 9, the conference summarizing the emulation movement in 2025, signing the emulation agreement in 2026 of the emulation cluster of the Labor Federations (LDLD) of centrally-run cities took place in Con Dao special zone, Ho Chi Minh City.
Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour Nguyen Dinh Khang attended and chaired the conference.
In 2025, in general, the Trade Union activities of the cluster of centrally-run cities were deployed synchronously, with focus and key points. Care work was also effectively deployed with more than 4.1 million union members and workers visited and supported with a total budget of over 2,700 billion VND; the "Trade Union Shelter" program in the year built and repaired over 400 houses for union members in difficult circumstances, with a total budget of over 25 billion VND... Thereby continuing to affirm the role and position of the Trade Union organization in representing, caring for and protecting the rights of workers.
In 2026, the emulation cluster of the City Labor Federations will focus on implementing 4 key activities such as: focusing on activities to care for difficult circumstances; organizing study and thoroughly grasping, implementing Resolutions of the Central Government and localities; organizing activities to celebrate major holidays, peak months of union member development...; continuing to improve the organizational model of the trade union apparatus of wards and communes in special zones to operate effectively and efficiently... At the same time, setting out 8 main targets to strive to complete, along with building tasks and solutions to achieve the set goals.
Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour Nguyen Dinh Khang acknowledged, praised and highly appreciated the efforts and sense of responsibility of the Labor Federations of cities; the leadership, direction, coordination, and creation of conditions by Party committees and local authorities.
According to Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour Nguyen Dinh Khang, 2026 is of particular importance, posing increasingly high requirements for the Trade Union organization, especially in key areas of localities in the cluster. Therefore, the requirements for quality of growth, sustainable development, and digital transformation are increasingly urgent; the streamlined trade union organization model requires management, administration and operational efficiency to be raised to a new level.
The President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour also suggested and requested the Labor Federations of cities to study and focus on implementing a number of contents including: Affirming and deeply expressing the role of the Trade Union organization; effectively and practically organizing patriotic emulation movements in 2026; promoting digital transformation in organization and operation; focusing on building strong trade union organizations from the grassroots level...; building a team of trade union officials to meet new requirements.
On this occasion, the emulation cluster of 6 centrally-run city LDFs including: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, Hue, Da Nang, Can Tho also signed emulation agreements with 10 contents.
Also on January 9, President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour Nguyen Dinh Khang and the working delegation offered incense to commemorate heroic martyrs in cemeteries and temples; visited to encourage and give gifts to 3 policy families in the Con Dao special zone. At the same time, the delegation also presented souvenirs to the Party Committee and the Con Dao Special Zone Trade Union; presented the "Great Solidarity Garden" park project to the Con Dao special zone; visited and presented gifts to 30 union members and workers in difficult circumstances in the area.
