According to supermarkets and shopping centers in Can Tho City, at this time, the work of reserving goods for the New Year and Lunar New Year 2025 has been basically completed.

Ms. Ho Quang Kieu - Director of GO! Can Tho Supermarket - informed that last year, although the business situation encountered some difficulties, the supermarket still ensured to fulfill its function of supplying goods to consumers.

Plans for the new year as well as Tet 2025, the supermarket has completed the import and storage of goods, especially essential goods such as wine, beer, soft drinks, candy, fresh food, rice, etc.

“All goods are ready to serve the Tet holiday. We will continue to implement promotional programs and price stabilization to ensure that the prices to consumers are always good,” said Ms. Kieu.

Speaking with Lao Dong, Ms. Dang Ngoc Uyen Phuong - Deputy Director of Co.op Mart Can Tho supermarket - said that from December 1, the Co.op Mart supermarket system in general and Co.op Mart Can Tho in particular have entered the peak of Tet.

“The supermarket plans to import goods and estimates that this year’s purchasing power will increase by about 10% compared to the same period last year. The supermarket has stockpiled goods as estimated. With favorable conditions near the main warehouse, we will gradually import goods every day,” Ms. Phuong shared.

Accordingly, in addition to direct discounts on products from 10 - 50%, buy 1 get 1 free, the supermarket also has promotions from now until Tet such as accumulating bills, bills of 400,000 VND will be discounted on Saturdays, Sundays...

Commitment to no price increase

Mr. Ha Vu Son - Director of the Department of Industry and Trade of Can Tho City - said that supermarkets and large commercial centers in the area are very interested in serving and ensuring goods for consumers, especially during the upcoming New Year and Lunar New Year. Through working with supermarkets and commercial centers, most of the suppliers of goods for these units have committed not to increase prices during Tet.

With consumer purchasing power tending to increase sharply, Mr. Son requested supermarkets and shopping centers in the area to urgently develop and implement plans according to the City People's Committee's Decision on promulgating the Program to stabilize the market of essential goods, promote trade activities in 2024, and Lunar New Year 2025. At the same time, units also need to create convenience for consumers during the shopping process.

Mr. Son also requested the City Market Management Department to closely coordinate with the Industry and Trade Department to prevent counterfeit, fake and poor quality goods, especially for essential goods for Tet.

Regarding dairy products and some other directed areas, the Market Management Department needs to focus on key issues, consult with the City People's Committee as well as coordinate closely with the City Police with relevant agencies to thoroughly handle violations, creating a transparent business environment on the basis of the law.
