Demand is increasing rapidly.
There is still more than a month to go until Lunar New Year, but Ms. Do Thi Lien (Cai Rang District, Can Tho City) has already started shopping for new clothes for herself and her family. Ms. Lien chose this time to avoid the crowds and to choose her favorite products.
“Not only me, but many people have also bought new clothes. My family often chooses mid-range clothes to use. Going early, I can find beautiful clothes without worrying about running out of size or color,” said Ms. Lien.
According to Ms. Lien, this year's clothing not only has new designs but also has many price segments, from affordable to high-end, helping consumers easily choose products that suit their finances.
Shopping for clothes and shoes for Tet, Ms. Truong Phi Nga (Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City) said that this year's fashion products are diverse in both design and price. Although the demand is not high, every year, she buys 1-2 decent outfits for each family member for Tet.
“Because business gets busier as Tet approaches, I take advantage of this time to go shopping for my family. By shopping in advance, I can choose clothes that suit my preferences,” Ms. Nga shared.
Compared to last year, Ms. Nga found that the prices of fashion products are now stable. Some items are also on sale, discounted by 20-30%, quite suitable for consumers' budgets.
Goods are constantly on the shelves
With the strong increase in purchasing power at the end of the year, Mr. Tran Van Tam - who runs a fashion store on Mau Than Street (Ninh Kieu District, Can Tho City) - has to import goods continuously every day. Employees also work overtime from 1-2 hours/day to classify, arrange and hang products on shelves.
“In recent years, consumers have been shopping early for fear of running out of nice clothes or sizes. Purchasing power has increased by about 20% even before the peak. It is expected that by January 2025, the amount of goods consumed will increase by more than 50%. Accordingly, goods arrive every day, employees serve customers in the morning and have to hurry to stock up at night,” said Mr. Tam.
At Co.op Mart Can Tho, Tet goods have been on display since December 1. Purchasing power has also gradually increased and increased most strongly on weekends. Fashion is one of the items that is quite popular at the supermarket.
Speaking to Lao Dong, Ms. Dang Ngoc Uyen Phuong - Deputy Director of Co.op Mart Can Tho supermarket - informed that from December 1, the Co.op Mart supermarket system in general and Co.op Mart Can Tho in particular have entered the peak of Tet. Goods reserved for Tet this year are expected to increase by about 10% compared to the same period last year and will be gradually imported every day.
