At the recent 6-month conference on the supply of petroleum to the market and the direction and tasks for the last 6 months of 2025, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued strong instructions on increasing the use of biofuel, especially E10 gasoline, to gradually replace mineral gasoline. The transition to using E10 gasoline is an important step in the roadmap for implementing emissions according to the Government's commitment.
Regarding this new energy policy, energy enterprises are also urgently piloting the sale of E10 RON95 biofuel at gas stations.
In particular, Vietnam Oil Corporation (PVOIL) has just announced that it will pilot the sale of E10 RON 95 biofuel at gas stations in Hanoi and Hai Phong from August 1. After the pilot phase, the corporation will continue to upgrade, convert and develop the E10 gasoline point; ready to implement the roadmap for using E10 gasoline from January 1, 2026.
Mr. Cao Hoai Duong - Chairman of the Board of Directors of PVOIL said that for a long time, PVOIL has invested in biofuel processing facilities in warehouses, including unit warehouses as well as transit warehouses. With the policy of the Party and State on the use of biofuel, it is expected to completely replace mineral gasoline with E10 gasoline.
"PVOIL's pilot implementation of E10 gasoline sales from August 1, 2025 is to help customers gradually get used to the new type of fuel, avoiding "shocking" in the conversion process" - Mr. Cao Hoai Duong said.
Mr. Tran Ngoc Nam - Member of the Board of Directors, Deputy General Director of the Vietnam National Petroleum Group (Petrolimex) also said - absolutely supporting the policy of implementing E10 gasoline.
"The Group plans to pilot E10 gasoline trading at affiliated gas stations in Ho Chi Minh City from August 1, 2025 before the merger. The goal is to assess market reactions, consumer behavior and the level of technical compliance of the distribution system" - Mr. Tran Ngoc Nam informed.
E10 gasoline is a finished gasoline mixed from mineral gasoline derived from fossil fuels along with biofuel, in which fuel alcohol is mixed at a certain ratio. According to QCVN 01:2022/BKHCN on gasoline, diesel fuel and biofuel, E10 gasoline is biofuel with a fuel alcohol content of 9 - 10% by volume.
