Vinachem and VIMC join hands to build industrial - logistics supply chain

On the afternoon of March 25, in Hanoi, Vietnam National Chemical Group (Vinachem) and Vietnam Maritime Corporation (VIMC) officially signed a comprehensive cooperation agreement.

According to the content of the agreement, the two units agreed to strengthen coordination in sea transport activities, port services and logistics. Vinachem with its system of fertilizer, chemical, rubber and battery production units will take advantage of VIMC's transportation and warehouse network to improve the efficiency of goods distribution and import of raw materials.

Conversely, VIMC has more opportunities to expand the service market and deeply engage in the industrial production supply chain.

The two sides also left open the possibility of cooperation in investment projects and brand promotion programs suitable to each other's development orientations.

At the ceremony, the leaders of the two units frankly acknowledged that although there was a foundation of relationship from before, the coordination in the past time has not been truly synchronized and lacks systematism.

Mr. Phung Quang Hiep - Chairman of Vinachem's Member Council - emphasized that the signing is just the starting step, the most important thing is to review each other's actual needs to optimize costs.

Agreeing with this view, Mr. Nguyen Canh Tinh - Chairman of the Board of Directors of VIMC - said that in the context of promoting the restructuring of state-owned enterprises, the formation of large-scale links is inevitable to improve competitiveness.

This signing event is expected to create a legal and practical basis for the two sides to implement specific cooperation programs, contributing to the formation of a sustainable economic linkage chain between production and transportation in the new period.
