The Prime Minister requested a plan to exploit My Dinh Stadium to avoid waste and degradation; report to the Prime Minister before April 15.

The Government Office has just issued Document No. 2790/VPCP-KGVX dated April 3, 2025, conveying the direction of Politburo member and Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on the plan to effectively exploit My Dinh National Stadium (My Dinh Stadium).

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has directed the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism to urgently direct the study and development of a plan to exploit My Dinh Stadium, ensuring effective exploitation, avoiding waste and degradation; report to the Prime Minister before April 15, 2025.

According to the Government Portal, My Dinh Stadium is one of the most modern sports facilities in Vietnam. Inaugurated in 2003, My Dinh Stadium has a capacity of about 40,000 spectators, and is the venue for many major events such as the SEA Games, AFF Cup, and international matches of the Vietnam football team.

This stadium is not only a place for sports competitions, but also organizes concerts and cultural events. However, recently, My Dinh Stadium has been seriously degraded, especially in terms of grass and infrastructure.

According to Mr. Dang Ha Viet - Director of the Department of Physical Education and Sports, in 2025, My Dinh Stadium will be allocated 8 billion VND to repair the grass. At the end of last year, the plan was approved, so this year the sports industry will carry out renovation and improvement.

It is expected that My Dinh Stadium will have its entire grass repaired and the foundation will be rebuilt. The current grass surface is guaranteed to have 20 layers, and will soon be dug 40 - 50 layers deep to completely re-enhance. In addition, the water spraying system will also be upgraded.
