Senior Lieutenant General Le Van Tuyen - Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security, chaired the ceremony.
Also attending were Ms. Estela del Valle Quijada Suarez - Charge d'Affaires ad interim of the Venezuelan Embassy in Vietnam; Colonel Pham Hung Duong, Deputy Director of the Fire and Rescue Police Department, Head of the working delegation and members of the delegation.
The earthquake that occurred on June 24 left particularly heavy consequences in Venezuela. According to updated information as of June 28, more than 1,400 people died, more than 50,000 people went missing and tens of thousands of homes were destroyed.
Faced with these losses, implementing the direction of Party, State and Government leaders, the Ministry of Public Security decided to send forces to Venezuela to support the search for victims, rescue, rescue and overcome the consequences of natural disasters.
Speaking at the send-off ceremony, Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen sent his deepest condolences to the Government, people of Venezuela and families of the victims. The Deputy Minister affirmed that Vietnam's timely sending forces to disaster-stricken areas is not only to support people in distress but also to show international solidarity, humanitarian responsibility and the traditional friendly relationship between Vietnam and Venezuela.

The working delegation of the Ministry of Public Security includes officers and soldiers with expertise and experience in searching for victims at the scene of the collapsed construction site, emergency medicine, communication, technical logistics and rescue command. Along with that, specialized vehicles, search equipment, medical supplies and necessary logistics conditions are all prepared and completed so that the working delegation can start the task as soon as they arrive at the scene.
Deputy Minister Le Van Tuyen requested members of the Delegation to maintain their bravery, solidarity, strictly comply with discipline and proactively coordinate with local forces. Each person in the delegation carries a specific task. But behind that task is also the image of the country and people of Vietnam being kind, responsible, always ready to be present when international friends need sharing.
Present at the send-off ceremony, Ms. Estela del Valle Quijada Suarez emotionally thanked the Party, State, Government and Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam for promptly sending forces to support Venezuela. The presence of Vietnamese rescue forces at a time when her country is suffering great losses is meaningful beyond the support of human resources and means. It is also a symbol of friendship, empathy and attachment between the people of the two countries.
Ms. Estela del Valle Quijada Suarez believes that, with experience, responsibility and courage, the Vietnamese delegation will contribute to helping people in the earthquake area overcome the most difficult days. She wished the officers and soldiers on their way good health, peace and return to the Fatherland after completing their mission.
Initially, it is expected that the Ministry of Public Security will bring about 20 tons of goods of all kinds, including necessities, medicines... to Venezuela.
