Colonel Nguyen Minh Khuong - Deputy Director of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department (PCCC&CNCH, Ministry of Public Security) - said that at 4:30 p.m. the same day (Myanmar time), the second search and rescue team of Vietnam was approaching the scene in the capital Naypyidaw.
According to Colonel Khuong, this is a 4-storey building with an area of 200m2, 24 bedrooms, collapsed in the town of Zabuthiri near the capital Naypyidaw. Through a survey, the rescue team discovered 2 people trapped in the rubble, including a child.
The soldiers used cutting machines, search engines and service dogs to approach the victims' locations as soon as possible.
Colonel Nguyen Minh Khuong added that the officers and soldiers in the group are still racing against time, deploying specialized equipment to search for victims in the earthquake.
The latest information from the rescue team, at 8:30 p.m., the men took the boy's body to the first floor of the 4-storey building.
"The whole team is trying to complete the task in accordance with the spirit of loving others as you love yourself, helping you as if helping yourself and considering your losses as your losses," said Colonel Khuong.
