On April 3, a delegation from the Ministry of National Defense of the Lao People's Army led by Senior Lieutenant General Saichay Commasith, Deputy Minister of National Defense, Chief of the General Staff of the Lao People's Army, visited the Military Command of Da Nang City.
At the visit, Colonel Tran Huu Ich, Commander of the Military Command of Da Nang City, expressed his pleasure to welcome Senior Lieutenant General Sai-chay Commasith and the working delegation; and emphasized that the armed forces of Da Nang City always maintain a strong and effective sisterhood relationship with the Military Commands of the two provinces of Sekong and Salavan (Laos).

In recent years, the Da Nang City Military Command has coordinated to implement many practical and meaningful activities such as: organizing drills to prevent and combat natural disasters, search and rescue in border areas; medical examinations, free medicine distribution, and gifts for people in border village clusters; exchanging delegations of cadres and families of military cadres to visit and exchange between localities.
For the Sekong Provincial Military Command, the unit has supported the construction of many friendly projects such as barracks of the Military Command of Tha Teng district, Dak Chung district, Border Company, training grounds... For the Salavan Provincial Military Command, it annually supports over 1 billion VND to build office buildings for the Command Headquarters, houses for guards of the local Military School, flag salute stands and many other essential items.
Not only supporting facilities, the Da Nang City Military Command also actively cares for and nurtures the young generations of the two countries. In 2025, the City Military Command completed a documentary film promoting solidarity, friendship and cooperation results between the two units from 1997 to present.
Speaking at the working session, Senior Lieutenant General Sai-chay Commasith emphasized that in recent years, the Party, State and army of the two countries Vietnam - Laos have regularly exchanged delegations, strengthened exchanges and comprehensive cooperation in all fields, especially in border management and protection, infrastructure construction, and training of cadres and officers of the Lao People's Army, contributing to promoting the socio-economic development of Laos and making the cooperative relationship between the two armies increasingly deeper, more practical and effective.
Senior Lieutenant General Saichay Commasith affirmed that in the coming time, he will continue to maintain, enhance and further tighten the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two Parties, the two States, the two armies and the people of the two countries; and at the same time wished the Da Nang City Military Command to continue to preserve and promote the good traditional relationship with the army and people of the Sekong and Salavan provinces, strengthen exchanges, support, and create conditions to help Lao students studying in Da Nang city achieve good results.
