Reporting on the implementation of storm prevention and control work and damage in the area, leaders of Military Region 1, Army Corps 12 and Bac Giang province affirmed: Storm No. 3 is the biggest storm in many years. The storm has increased in intensity rapidly and maintained super storm level for a long time and over a large area.
The Ministry of National Defense delegation requested that units continue to organize command forces, on-duty teams, and 24/7 rescue and relief operations. Strictly implement the telegrams and instructions of the Ministry of National Defense, Military Region 1, and the province on overcoming the consequences of natural disasters. Continuously update and compile statistics on damage results, and coordinate with agencies to carry out policy work for localities and households affected by the storm.
Coordinate with local support forces and people to overcome the consequences of storms and floods, gather People's Committee offices, schools, medical centers, etc. soon so that local activities can return to normal, and at the same time help people stabilize their lives. Strengthen propaganda and mobilize people to continue to be vigilant and not return to dangerous areas with high risk of landslides.
It is known that storm No. 3 has caused heavy damage to people and property. Due to the impact of storm No. 3's circulation, the provinces under Military Region 1 have been seriously affected. Currently, there is heavy rain, so some areas are partially flooded: Thai Nguyen province (Thai Nguyen city, Dong Hy district, Phu Luong district...); Bac Giang province (Luc Nam district, Luc Ngan district, Son Dong district...); Cao Bang province (Nguyen Binh district, Thach An district, Hoa An district, Quang Hoa district, Bao Lac district...); Bac Kan province (Cho Don district, Bach Thong district, Na Ri district, Cho Moi district...); Lang Son province (Huu Lung district, Chi Lang district, Van Lang district, Trang Dinh district, Lang Son city...); Bac Ninh province (Luong Tai district, Gia Binh district, Que Vo town, Thuan Thanh district...), an estimated 9,000 households are affected and isolated.
In Bac Giang, floods from upstream caused water levels to rise on major rivers, inundating many places, isolating and severely cutting off, causing much damage and affecting the lives and activities of many families in the province.
On September 9, authorities in Bac Giang promptly assisted many people in evacuating to safety. The provincial Military Command mobilized 4,627 officers and soldiers with 74 cars of various types and 10 speedboats to participate in disaster prevention and search and rescue work in localities...
Preliminary damage caused by storm No. 3 in Bac Giang province is about 300 billion VND. The province also had one person die due to natural disasters.
