In the afternoon of July 28, at the Government Headquarters, Politburo Member, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung met with Cambodian National Assembly Chairman Samdech Khuon Sudary who is on an official visit to Vietnam.
Prime Minister Le Minh Hung affirmed that the visit is of great significance, contributing to consolidating political trust, strengthening cooperative relations between the two Parties, the two States and the people of the two countries, creating momentum to bring Vietnam-Cambodia relations to strong development.
Cambodian National Assembly Chairman Khuon Sudary expressed his pleasure for the second official visit to Vietnam; respectfully conveyed the greetings of Prime Minister Hun Manet and senior Cambodian leaders to Prime Minister Le Minh Hung and other senior leaders of Vietnam.
The two sides exchanged specific measures and clear deadlines to effectively implement high-level commitments and agreements, contributing to making Vietnam-Cambodia relations develop more substantively, effectively and sustainably, focusing on maintaining regular high-level contacts and exchanges; continuing to deepen defense and security cooperation, strengthening coordination in preventing and combating cross-border crime; adhering to the principle of not allowing any force to use one country's territory to oppose another; promoting border demarcation and marker planting, contributing to building a border of peace, stability, friendship, cooperation and development; continuing to create conditions for the Vietnamese-origin community to live stably, to be guaranteed legitimate rights and interests, thereby making positive contributions to the socio-economic development of Cambodia and the friendly relations between the two countries.
The two leaders also agreed to promote the connection of the two economies, especially in the fields of transportation, infrastructure, telecommunications, finance - banking; coordinate to complete a new cooperation mechanism to closely link the two economies; promote the connection of the Ho Chi Minh City - Moc Bai and Bavet - Phnom Penh expressways; accelerate the amendment and new signing of Agreements to facilitate trade and border management; coordinate to organize well activities to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (June 24, 1967 - June 24, 2027), considering this a historical milestone in the relations between the two countries and promoting propaganda for the young generation about the tradition of solidarity and friendship between the two nations.
Responding to the proposal of the Cambodian National Assembly Chairman on strengthening scientific and technological cooperation, innovation and attracting investment from Vietnam, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung further shared about the results of the 3rd Conference of the 14th Party Central Committee that proposed many policies and resolutions to innovate development models, in which innovation is the foundation and completely agreed that this is a potential area that the two sides can complement each other, and at the same time agreed to encourage Vietnamese businesses to expand investment in Cambodia.
