On the morning of June 19, Politburo Member, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung and the high-level Vietnamese delegation arrived in Hanoi, successfully concluding their working trip to attend the ASEAN - Russia 35th Anniversary Summit and have bilateral activities in Kazan, Republic of Tatarstan, Russian Federation from June 16-18 at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
Within the framework of the working trip, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung and the high-level Vietnamese delegation had a continuous and effective program of activities.
The Prime Minister and heads of ASEAN delegations attended the plenary session, lunch session to work at the ASEAN - Russia 35th Anniversary Summit, and the opening ceremony of the ASEAN - Russia Business Forum.
Along with that, the Prime Minister met with Russian President Vladimir Putin, met with the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov; received General Director of the Russian Direct Investment Fund Kiril Dmitriev, General Director of the Russian State Atomic Energy Corporation (Rosatom) A. Likhachev, received General Director of Zarubezhneft Company S. Kudryashov; visited an exhibition introducing the industrial, high-tech and export potential of Tatarstan.
The Prime Minister also met with officials and staff of the Embassy, Consulate General and the Vietnamese community in Russia; attended the Vietnam - Russian Federation trade and investment connection program, witnessed the handover of cooperation documents between businesses of the two countries and announced the opening of three new routes connecting Vietnam and Russia by Vietjet airline.
Prime Minister Le Minh Hung's first working trip to the Russian Federation in his new position was successful, continuing to implement the foreign policy of the Party and State; affirming Vietnam's position and responsibility in ASEAN, contributing to the overall success of the ASEAN-Russia Summit, promoting Vietnam's "bridge" role to promote the ASEAN-Russia Strategic Partnership to develop substantially, effectively, commensurate with its potential and make new progress on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of relations.
The working trip also continued to promote the implementation of the agreements reached between General Secretary and President To Lam and President Vladimir Putin to comprehensively enhance bilateral cooperation between Vietnam and Russia.
Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, members of the high-level Vietnamese delegation and Russian leaders and partners exchanged and agreed on directions and measures to create breakthroughs for bilateral cooperation to bring more practical results, firmly consolidate the foundation of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for long-term development, effectively serving the development of each country.
