On August 25, Politburo Member, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and President of the National Assembly of the Ivory Coast Republic Patrick Achi visited and worked at Trung An High-Tech Agriculture Joint Stock Company, specializing in producing and exporting clean rice and organic rice, and Can Tho Seafood Import-Export Joint Stock Company (Caseamex), Tra Noc Industrial Park - a long-standing enterprise operating in the field of seafood processing and export in the Mekong Delta region.
Trung An High-Tech Agriculture Joint Stock Company is currently a large rice production, trading and export enterprise in the Mekong Delta region. The company has linked with farmers in many provinces and cities in the Mekong Delta region to build high-quality rice material areas, invest in modern machinery to process rice, with a processing capacity of 21,000 tons of rice/month.
Every year, the company supplies about 300,000 tons of rice to the domestic market and exports, mainly focusing on high-quality rice, delicious rice, and specialties. Trung An's rice products have been exported to many demanding markets, helping to bring high value.
Can Tho Seafood Import-Export Joint Stock Company is a long-term enterprise operating in the field of aquaculture, processing and seafood export in the Mekong Delta. Over the past time, the company has focused on applying modern technology, strictly complying with international quality and food safety standards to bring products to export to many markets around the world.
Continuing the working trip, in the afternoon of the same day, President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Ivory Coast Patrick Achi and the working delegation visited and worked with Can Tho city.
Speaking to welcome, Mr. Truong Canh Tuyen - Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee - expressed his honor and pleasure to welcome National Assembly Chairman Patrick Achi and the high-level delegation of the Republic of Ivory Coast to visit and work in Can Tho city.
Chairman of Can Tho City People's Committee emphasized that the visit of the Chairman of the National Assembly of the Republic of Ivory Coast is an important milestone, contributing to further tightening the traditional friendly relations between Vietnam and Ivory Coast in general, as well as opening up practical cooperation opportunities between Can Tho and localities and partners of Ivory Coast in particular.
Here, Mr. Do Thanh Binh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee briefly informed about the potential, strengths, outstanding results and development orientation of the city.
Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee said that Ivory Coast is currently Vietnam's largest trading partner in Africa, with two-way trade turnover in 2025 reaching nearly 2 billion USD. In that spirit, Mr. Do Thanh Binh proposed key cooperation on expanding agricultural and seafood trade.
Secretary of the Can Tho City Party Committee wished to strengthen business connections between the two sides, promote exports to Ivory Coast and the West African market of strong products such as: high-quality rice, pangasius, shrimp, fruits and processed agricultural products.
At the same time, Can Tho is ready to create conditions for city businesses to learn about, import and distribute strong products and raw materials of Ivory Coast. Thereby, forming two-way, complementary and mutually beneficial trade relations.
Regarding science - technology and production experience, the Secretary of the City Party Committee said that the city is ready to coordinate in organizing expert exchange programs, sharing experiences on rice production, mechanization, cooperative development, aquaculture, digital transformation and green agriculture.
Regarding promoting investment cooperation and value chain development, the Secretary of the City Party Committee wished to connect businesses of both sides in the fields of deep processing, cold storage, logistics and agricultural trade; at the same time, create favorable conditions for Ivory Coast businesses to learn about the investment and business environment in Can Tho and vice versa.
Speaking at the visit and working session, Ivory Coast National Assembly Chairman Patrick Achi thanked the warm and friendly reception that Can Tho city gave to the delegation.
National Assembly Chairman Patrick Achi said that if it is necessary to find direct partners from Vietnam, then currently Can Tho city is one of the leading partners that Ivory Coast will want to implement the first projects on agricultural product cooperation.
Can Tho has known how to fully utilize the advantages of resources and environment, as well as make good use of current human resources to create new values, through human resources trained from universities such as: Can Tho University or research institutes," Mr. Patrick Achi stated clearly.
National Assembly Chairman Patrick Achi also fully agreed with the proposals of the Can Tho City Party Secretary related to rice, seafood, processing technology and creating added value, or in the field of forestry.
