On the morning of March 4, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Vu Dai Thang, Head of Working Group No. 2 of the City Party Committee Standing Committee inspected the election work in the wards: Hai Ba Trung, Bach Mai, Vinh Tuy (Electure unit No. 3).
Ensuring democratic and lawful elections
Reporting to the working delegation, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of Vinh Tuy Ward People's Council Nguyen Quang Trung said that so far the tasks of preparing for the election have been carried out synchronously, on schedule, in accordance with the law, creating a solid foundation for the election day to take place democratically and safely.
According to Mr. Nguyen Quang Trung, the work of compiling and listing voter lists is carried out strictly and democratically. At the time of listing, the entire ward had more than 48,000 voters; after reviewing and updating population movements, the number increased to 51,486 voters. The increase in voters is mainly due to citizens returning to residence after Tet and registering to vote at temporary residence.
The ward has established inspection teams, ensuring that the list is publicly posted at 67 locations, creating favorable conditions for voters to inspect and propose adjustments if there are errors.
In Bach Mai ward, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Ward People's Council Tran Quyet Thang said that there are 39 voting areas in the ward, corresponding to the establishment of 39 Election Teams in accordance with regulations.
In the coming time, the ward will continue to organize professional training on ballot counting, complete the issuance of voter cards and review facilities at polling stations, determined to successfully organize safe, democratic and lawful elections.
Reporting to the working delegation, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of Hai Ba Trung Ward People's Committee Nguyen Manh Hung said that the listing of candidates was carried out seriously and on time according to the law.
In the coming week, the ward will focus on printing and distributing more than 71,000 voter cards according to each voting area; printing ballots for ward People's Council deputies; continuing to complete the decoration of the remaining voting areas, ensuring the best conditions for the election day to take place safely, democratically and in accordance with the law.
Effectively exploit residence management software
Speaking to direct the election preparation work in 3 wards, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Vu Dai Thang requested wards to focus highly on leadership and direction; thoroughly review each stage, each step in the election organization process, especially the preparation and posting of voter lists and official lists of candidates at all three levels. The goal set out is to ensure objectivity, democracy, compliance with the law and absolutely not to let errors occur that require re-election in any area.
Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee affirmed that with serious preparation, responsibility and high determination of the entire political system, the election in the city will take place safely, democratically, in accordance with the law, truly a great festival for the whole people.
Regarding tasks in the coming time, Mr. Vu Dai Thang suggested that if wards, if candidates of National Assembly or People's Council delegates wish to organize more meetings to present their action programs more clearly, it is necessary to create favorable conditions. This is the legitimate right of candidates and also the right to full information of voters.
Regarding the voter list, Mr. Vu Dai Thang requested units to closely coordinate with the police force to effectively exploit residence management software, ensure timely updates on population changes, not to miss voters, and create conditions for all citizens to fully exercise their voting rights according to legal regulations. This is also an important content in the digital transformation process in state management.
