On April 3, local time, at the National Assembly Building, Chairman of the Armenia National Assembly Alen Simonyan presided over the welcoming ceremony for Politburo member, Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man and the high-ranking Vietnamese delegation on an official visit to Armenia. Immediately after the welcoming ceremony, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man and National Assembly Chairman Armenia Alen Simonyan held talks.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man was pleased to announce that the Vietnamese National Assembly has established the Vietnam - Armenia Friendship Parliamentarians Group and believes that through the activities of the Vietnam - Armenia and Armenia - Vietnam Friendship Parliamentarians Group, many exchange and cooperation activities will be promoted and serve as a bridge to promote relations between the two countries and the two National Assemblies.
The Chairman of the Armenia National Assembly emphasized that Ukraine highly values Vietnam not only as a friend but also as a leading economic and trade partner in the region; said that Armenia will be the host country of the United Nations Conference on Biodiversity (COP 17.7) held in 2026 and expressed its hope that Vietnam will send a high-level delegation to attend this conference.
The two presidents of the National Assembly agreed to assess that over the past time, Vietnam - Armenia relations have made good developments in many fields and said that the two sides have many potentials and advantages that can promote and improve cooperation efficiency in all fields, for the benefit of the people of the two countries, for peace, cooperation and development in the region and around the world.
Accordingly, the two National Assembly Chairmen agreed to increase delegation exchanges and contacts at all levels, especially at high levels, to strengthen political trust and create a basis for promoting cooperation in other fields.
Appreciating the signing of cooperation agreement between the National Assembly on the occasion of this visit, creating a legal framework for further strengthening the relationship between the two legislative agencies in the coming time, the two presidents of the National Assembly agreed to strengthen the exchange of high -ranking delegations of the National Assembly's leaders, cooperative activities between the National Assembly's agencies, the Huu Nghi MPs, the young MPs, the National Assembly, the National Assembly's delegates; strengthen cooperation, information exchange and share experiences among specialized committees and National Assembly deputies in parliamentary activities, especially in the field of legislative and supervision; Strengthen supervision and urge the effective implementation of bilateral and multilateral cooperation agreements that the Government of the two countries have signed or participated in, especially agreements to help promote economic and trade cooperation.
In order to promote more economic -trade cooperation, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man suggested that Armenia side enabled Vietnamese businesses to access the Armenia market and the Asia -Europe Economic Union (EAEU), especially through the cooperation mechanism within the framework of the free trade agreement between Vietnam and EAEU, Armenia is a member; strengthen information exchange on policies and markets; create favorable conditions for businesses of the two countries to participate in investment -trade promotion activities, specialized fairs and international exhibitions held in each country; research and remove difficulties for businesses of the two countries when investing in each other's markets; Early exchange the list of goods each country needs, serve the diversification of bilateral import and export activities that the two sides have potential and strengths.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man suggested that Armenia pay attention to and encourage the organization of exchange activities, promote the cultural and historical values of the two countries, contribute to enhancing understanding for the younger generation and fostering friendship between the two peoples; consider the possibility of establishing the Armenia - Vietnam Friendship Association in Armenia.
After the talks, the Chairmen of the two countries' National Assemblies signed a Cooperation Agreement between the two National Assemblies of Vietnam and Ukraine.
