Responding to an interview about the results of the state visit to Vietnam by General Secretary and President of China Xi Jinping from April 14 to 15, Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu said that the visit is the most important foreign policy event for the Vietnam - China bilateral relationship this year.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu emphasized that the visit has achieved results with the largest number of documents, the most rich field to date, including a joint statement and 45 cooperation documents between ministries, branches, agencies and localities of both sides.
In particular, the Vietnam - China Joint Statement has "comprehensive content, both strategic and oriented, clearly defining specific focuses, meeting our requirements and harmonizing the interests of both sides, being one of the joint documents with the richest and highest quality content ever".
"The 45 cooperation documents are a telling number, demonstrating the vibrant, substantial, diverse, and increasingly close intertwination of interests between the two countries" - Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Vu shared.
Regarding the direction of deploying the results achieved after the visit, the Standing Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs pointed out, the top priority in the current period is to accelerate the development strategy between the two countries, first of all connecting the infrastructure of the standard size of the standard, high -speed road, smart border -gate infrastructure; Researching and implementing cooperation on technology and training human resources for Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong, Lang Son - Hanoi, Mong Cai - Ha Long - Hai Phong - Hai Phong; speeding up building a smart border gate at Huu Nghi - Huu Nghi international border gate, creating a basis to replicate to other border gates if eligible; upgrade the "soft connection" of smart customs, facilitating the import and export of goods; Promote recovery and open more flights to meet the market demand.
Promote cooperation in emerging areas such as artificial intelligence, clean energy, green economy, digital economy, application of 5G technology; increase information exchange and share experiences in policy management in the fields of finance - currency, reform and state-owned enterprise management; actively research and pilot the implementation of the cross-border economic cooperation zone model, expand the scope of payment in local currencies; research and implement cooperation in the field of key minerals.
Encourage and support businesses with strength, reputation and advanced technology of one country to invest in the other, promote substantial cooperation in areas such as high-tech agriculture, handling air pollution in large cities.
