On February 15, information from the National Assembly Office said that Politburo Member, National Assembly Chairman, Chairman of the National Election Council Tran Thanh Man signed and issued Resolution No. 151/NQ-HDBCQG on announcing the official list of candidates for National Assembly deputies (NA deputies) of the 16th term according to each constituency nationwide.
According to the resolution, there are 864 candidates for the 16th National Assembly in 182 constituencies nationwide. This resolution takes effect from February 14, 2026.

At the election on March 15, voters will vote to elect 500 National Assembly deputies of the 16th term out of 864 candidates named in the official list.
According to the structure, the total number of NA deputies of the 16th term is 500 people. Of which, the number of deputies in central agencies is 217 people (43.4%), the number of National Assembly deputies in localities is 283 people (56.6%).
The election of National Assembly Deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term will be held on Sunday, March 15. This is an important political event of the country, aimed at selecting typical deputies representing the will, aspirations and right to mastery of the people.
It is expected that the election results will be announced on March 22nd and the first session of the 16th National Assembly will be held on April 6th to conduct personnel work along with content on law-making.
