At the 21st session of the People's Council of Da Nang City, term X, term 2021-2026 on the morning of December 11, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, Chairman of the People's Council of Da Nang City said: "In 2024, the economy will grow by 7.51% over the same period, the following quarter will grow higher than the previous quarter and rank 2nd among 5 provinces and centrally run cities.
Some major economic sectors and fields grew quite well, especially the service and tourism sectors. The industrial and construction sector grew by 7.69% over the same period. The city's budget revenue is estimated to exceed 33.3% of the estimate and equal to 119.9% over the same period in 2023."
However, in addition to the results achieved, the city's economy has grown but some important targets have not been achieved as set out in the Resolution. The Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI) continues to decline, compensation, clearance, and handover of land in some localities are still slow.
Some key projects and works and public investment disbursement have not met the set schedule, affecting many aspects of social life and the city's growth rate. There are still some shortcomings in urban order management. There is still a shortage of medicine, equipment and medical supplies in some hospitals and medical facilities, and political security and social order and safety still have potential complications.
