On November 8, General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of National Defense sent a letter of thanks to the Party Committee, government, people, agencies, units, and armed forces of Binh Dinh province.

The letter of General Phan Van Giang stated: On November 6, the Yak-130 military aircraft numbered 210D of the 940th Air Force Regiment, Air Force Officer School, during a training flight encountered a technical problem and could not land. Colonel Nguyen Van Son, Regiment Commander, and Senior Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hong Quan, Flight Director of the 940th Air Force Regiment, had to take emergency measures and bring the aircraft to the forest and mountains of the TB2 Shooting Range, Tay Son District, Binh Dinh Province to parachute.

Upon hearing that a military plane had crashed while on duty in the province, with their sentiments and responsibilities, the Party Committee, government, and functional agencies of Binh Dinh province quickly took action, promptly directed the promotion of the "4 on-the-spot" spirit, mobilized forces and means, especially military forces, police, rangers, militia and self-defense forces in the area and people of Tay Son district, under the unified command of the Military Region 5 Command, regardless of difficulties and dangers, day and night to search, bring the two pilot officers in the crash to a safe place and provide them with good care.

"On behalf of the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense, I would like to express my sincere thanks to the prompt, timely and effective participation of the Party Committee, the government, the people, and the agencies, units and armed forces in Binh Dinh province who actively supported the successful search and rescue of the pilot. That noble action and gesture has contributed to fostering and strengthening the blood relationship between the army and the people like fish and water and the heroic tradition of Binh Dinh.

In the coming time, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense hope to continue to receive the sentiments and valuable support from the Party Committee, government, people and armed forces of Binh Dinh province so that the Vietnam People's Army in general, the air defense and air force troops and military units stationed in Binh Dinh province in particular, can successfully complete their assigned tasks, contributing to building and firmly protecting the socialist Vietnamese Fatherland," General Phan Van Giang's letter stated.
