The working class and trade union organizations have continuously matured
This afternoon (8.15), within the framework of "Creative Labor Day 2025", the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) organized the Forum "Promoting the creativity potential of workers". This is one of the activities held on the occasion of the 80th Anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2.
On behalf of the Party and State leaders speaking at the Forum, Politburo member and Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu - Deputy Head of the Central Steering Committee for Science and Technology Development, Innovation and Digital Transformation - expressed his joy at attending the "Creative Labor Festival 2025".
Standing member of the Secretariat Tran Cam Tu emphasized that after 96 years of building and developing, led by the Party and Uncle Ho, overcoming many hardships and challenges, especially in the historic journey of 80 years of building and defending the country with the nation, the working class and the Trade Union organization have constantly matured, always closely attached to the nation, resilient in fighting and creating in labor, making great and persistent contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party and the country.
From the practice of struggle and labor, Vietnamese workers have fostered precious traditional values: solidarity - resilience, creativity - responsibility, affection - loyalty to the ideal of national independence associated with socialism.
Entering the period of innovation, the working class continues to affirm its pioneering role in the cause of industrialization, modernization of the country and international integration, directly mastering technology, operating modern production lines, contributing to improving labor productivity and competitiveness of the economy.
Closely following the development process of the working class, the Vietnam Trade Union over the past 96 years has affirmed its important position and role as the only political and social organization representing workers; persistently protecting the legitimate and legal rights and interests of union members; and being a solid bridge between the Party and the State and workers, civil servants and laborers nationwide.
Affirming the role of accompanying, supporting and creating the Vietnam Trade Union
According to the Standing Committee of the Secretariat, under the leadership of the Party, patriotic emulation movements launched by the Trade Union have become a strong driving force for innovation and creativity in production labor.
From the movement "Good workers - Creative workers" to typical programs such as "75,000 initiatives - Overcoming difficulties, developing" and "1 million initiatives - striving to overcome difficulties, being creative, determined to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic", millions of initiatives, works, and technical solutions have been born, contributing to increasing productivity, improving the quality and efficiency of the socio-economy.
The achievements have not only demonstrated the great creativity of Vietnamese workers, but also affirmed the role of accompanying, supporting and creating the Vietnam Trade Union in the journey to build a strong and prosperous Vietnam.
Pleased and excited by the results, the Standing Committee of the Secretariat stated the need to frankly acknowledge the limitations, in which, in reality, although our country's labor productivity has improved, it is still low compared to the region and the world. The growth model still relies heavily on unskilled labor, while industries using high technology and large added value still account for a low proportion...
The Standing Secretariat emphasized that this situation requires more urgent and fundamental breakthrough and comprehensive steps in the human development strategy, considering this the foundation for the country to move forward firmly in the new era. Innovation is no longer a choice, but an inevitable path to bring our country to rapid, sustainable and unique development.
In that context, the Forum "Promoting the creative potential of workers" within the framework of the "Creative Labor Festival 2025" program is truly a practical activity, at the same time, contributing to realizing the strategic breakthrough goal of the 13th National Party Congress on innovating the growth model based on science, technology, innovation and digital transformation; also a very meaningful gift from the Trade Union organization and workers nationwide to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2.
