Cham culture - a unique treasure
On the evening of June 26, at April 16th Square, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the People's Committee of Khanh Hoa province organized the opening ceremony of the 6th Cham National Culture Festival in 2026.

Attending the opening ceremony were Ms. Vo Thi Anh Xuan - Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Vice President, along with leaders of central and local ministries and sectors.
With the theme "Preserving and promoting the cultural identity of the Cham ethnic group in the new era", the festival takes place with many unique activities such as performing traditional cultural rituals, introducing handicrafts, costume performances and mass art festivals.
In addition, the event also includes sports competitions and seminars on cultural heritage preservation associated with tourism development.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan affirmed that Cham culture is a unique treasure in Vietnamese culture. This has been shown through the system of religious architecture, historical relics, national treasures and intangible cultural values passed down through many generations.
According to the Vice President, the uniqueness of Cham culture lies in the unity within the national roots but diversity in religious and belief life, customs and living space.
That diversity creates the unique beauty of Cham culture, while reflecting the richness, tolerance and unity in the diversity of Vietnamese culture.

The Vice President highly appreciated the organization of the 6th Cham National Culture Festival with a wider scale and richer program, contributing to meeting the feelings and aspirations of the people.
The Vice President requested localities to continue to promote the subjective role of the Cham people in preserving and transmitting heritage; strengthen the application of science and technology, digital transformation, promote the role of artisans, prestigious people, dignitaries, and officials in preserving traditional cultural values.

Preserving heritage, opening up directions for cultural tourism development
Chairman of Khanh Hoa Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Viet Hung emphasized that organizing the festival in Khanh Hoa this time is of great significance as the locality is expanding its development space.
This is an opportunity for Khanh Hoa to promote its role as a center for conservation, research and promotion of Cham culture in the South Central Coast and Central Highlands regions.
The festival is not only an activity to honor cultural identity but also contributes to concretizing the direction of cultural development to become an internal resource, an important driving force for sustainable development.
Values preserved by the Cham people such as traditional festivals, folk performance art, handicrafts, costumes, cuisine, beliefs and folk knowledge are precious cultural assets that need to be continued to be preserved and promoted in modern life.

Along with preserving heritage, the locality orients the development of cultural models associated with community tourism, sustainable livelihoods, digital transformation and cultural industry. Thereby making Cham cultural values a driving force for socio-economic development.
Within the framework of the festival, the art program "Shining colors of Cham culture" brought an emotional space, recreating the beauty of costumes, music, dances and spiritual life of the Cham community.
Not only is it an art performance activity, the program also depicts the journey of preserving a culture with historical depth, nurtured by tradition and the lasting vitality of the community.
