On the morning of October 21, the opening of the Kathe Festival in 2025 took place at Po Sah Inu tower in Phu Thuy ward, Lam Dong province.
Kate is the oldest and most unique folk festival of the Cham people following the Balamon faith.
The festival has the meaning of remembering the gods, thanking ancestors and praying for favorable weather, a bumper crop and a prosperous life.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Dinh Van Tuan - Vice Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee sent his best wishes to Cham people in the province to welcome the Kathe festival in solidarity, joy and health.
Mr. Tuan emphasized that the Party, State and province always believe in the solidarity, unity and attachment of the Cham people in the cause of preserving, preserving and promoting the value of heritage imbued with national cultural nuances.

Since noon on October 20, Cham people from communes in the province have gathered at Po Sah Inu tower to prepare for the festival.
After the opening ceremony, Cham officials conducted the Nho Marriage Ceremony of the goddess Po Sah Inu - the most important ceremony of Kate.
The crowd in traditional costumes, holding up offerings, extending from the festival yard to the main tower, created a sacred but colorful scene.

Followed by traditional rituals: Opening the main tower door, bathing in the Linga - Yoni altar, wearing costumes and a large offering ceremony to celebrate Kathe at the main tower.
After the solemn ceremony, the festive atmosphere became more vibrant with the festival including folk games such as rice pounding, blindfolded and hoarfrog-throwing...

Not only an opportunity to meet spiritual needs, the Kate Festival is also an opportunity to attract people, tourists and the younger generation to learn and explore the typical cultural features of the Cham people, contributing to promoting the image of Lam Dong's cultural tourism.
The Cham Kathe Festival in Binh Thuan was included in the National Intangible Cultural Heritage List by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in April 2022.
