On June 13, the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Gia Lai province solemnly organized the Memorial Service, Commemoration Ceremony and burial of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who sacrificed in the wars in Cambodia to rest at Duc Co Martyrs' Cemetery (Gia Lai).

Over the past time, with the attention of the Royal Government of Cambodia, along with the dedicated assistance of the government, army and people of 3 provinces of Ratanakiri, Stung Treng and Preah Vihear, military units have searched, exhumed, and repatriated for the 25th time (dry season 2025 - 2026) the remains of 18 Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who sacrificed in the wars in Cambodia.
In the arduous years of history, when the Cambodian people faced a genocidal disaster, tens of thousands of cadres, soldiers, volunteer soldiers and Vietnamese experts set off to perform international duties, contributing to bringing peace and revival to millions of people.
In that arduous struggle, many outstanding children of the Vietnamese nation have forever lain in your land. They left when they were very young, carrying unfinished dreams and ambitions.
The blood of the soldiers has blended into the forests, rivers, and villages in Cambodia, contributing to writing an immortal epic about revolutionary heroism, a bright international spirit and special solidarity between the two nations.

The Party, State, Army and People of Vietnam always consider the search and repatriation of martyrs' remains as a special political task, an order from the heart.
Thanks to the attention of the Governments of Vietnam and Cambodia; the valuable assistance of the government, armed forces and people of Ratanakiri, Stung Treng, Preah Vihear provinces; and the persistent efforts of officers and soldiers of Team K52, to date, 1,531 martyrs have been found and returned to the Fatherland.
Each remains found is a return after decades of anticipation; a sacred reunion between children and homeland, Fatherland; and at the same time a great comfort for relatives, comrades and people across the country.
Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Thi Thanh Lich assessed that Team K52 has always excellently completed its tasks in more than 25 years of performing tasks in Cambodia. The officers and soldiers of the Team are experienced people, have good relationships with the locality, and many people use Khmer language proficiently.
The team also strictly implements military discipline and order and people-to-people diplomacy. Thanks to that, the unit always receives active support from the people and authorities of the northeastern provinces of Cambodia, contributing to the search, gathering and repatriation of many martyrs' remains to the country.
