Affirming the new position and stature of the Capital
Attending the conference were Central delegates: Politburo member, Prime Minister, Chairman of the Central Emulation and Reward Council Pham Minh Chinh; Party Central Committee member, Vice President, First Vice Chairman of the Central Emulation and Reward Council Vo Thi Anh Xuan; Party Central Committee member, Permanent Deputy Head of the Central Mass Mobilization Commission Pham Tat Thang and many leaders, former leaders of central departments, ministries, branches and Hanoi City.
After 32 years of launching the "Good people, good deeds" movement, up to now, the movement has always been promoted by all levels and sectors of the city, bringing practical results, creating strong changes in all fields, thereby affirming a new position and new stature of the Capital.
2024 is the year of many important political events and major holidays in the capital, including the 70th anniversary of the Liberation Day of the Capital. Hanoi continues to implement Resolution No. 15-NQ/TU (dated May 5, 2022) of the Politburo on "Orientations and tasks for the development of Hanoi Capital to 2030, with a vision to 2045". In particular, after many efforts of the entire political system, the amended Law on the Capital has created potential, motivation and is a great premise for Hanoi to carry out many strategic tasks in the new period.
In particular, Hanoi is the first unit in the country to promptly summarize 10 years of implementing Directive No. 34-CT/TU (dated April 7, 2014) of the Politburo on "Continuing to innovate emulation and reward work" and the Writing Contest on typical advanced examples, good people, good deeds, and setting out directions and tasks for the coming time.
Effectively carry out patriotic emulation movements
Speaking at the conference, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said that for the capital Hanoi - the heart of the whole country, the national political and administrative nerve center, the major center of economy, culture, science, education and international integration of the whole country; and with the tradition of being a "Model City for the whole country", Hanoi has always been the leading locality and effectively implemented patriotic emulation movements, both traditional emulation movements and thematic emulation movements; innovation and creativity in organizing and implementing emulation movements have contributed to creating a new, synchronous and widespread emulation atmosphere, promoting the combined strength of all levels, sectors, organizations and people of the capital, contributing to completing and exceeding the set socio-economic targets and tasks.
Emphasizing that the country is entering an era of growth with mixed difficulties and advantages, the Prime Minister believes and hopes that the capital Hanoi needs to continue to promote its glorious tradition, effectively exploit its potentials and advantages, make the most of opportunities and chances, mobilize comprehensive resources and especially the trust, solidarity, consensus and unanimity of cadres, party members and people to together serve the cause of building and developing a "civilized - civilized - modern" capital worthy of the expectations of the Party, State and people.
Receiving the direction of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh affirmed that the city will seriously and fully grasp the Prime Minister's profound and valuable directions and will promptly disseminate and develop specific programs and action plans to focus on implementation in October 2024.
At the ceremony, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan and Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh honored 10 outstanding citizens of the capital.
Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Thi Tuyen and Chairman of the City People's Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan presented titles and flowers to congratulate 70 individuals representing nearly 700 typical "Good people, good deeds" of the city in 2024.
