On the evening of January 10, Nghe An province organized the program "Love of Lam River - Spring At Ty 2025", with the participation of Mr. Nguyen Dac Vinh - Member of the Party Central Committee, Member of the National Assembly Standing Committee, Chairman of the National Assembly's Committee on Culture and Education; leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Committee, Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, departments, businesses, and philanthropists.
At the program, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Duc Trung, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh and leaders of Nghe An province received support, presented certificates and flowers from the Organizing Committee of the Program "Nghia dong lam - Xuan At Ty 2025" to collectives and individuals who had noble acts of supporting the poor in Nghe An province during Tet.
The program has received support registrations from 157 agencies, units, businesses, and generous individuals with a total amount of more than 131 billion VND; together with the auction amount of the painting "Nghia tinh dong Lam", the total amount that the program has received is more than 132 billion VND.
According to Mr. Le Hong Vinh - Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee, after 12 years of implementing the program "Tet for the poor", Nghe An province has mobilized and called for more than 873 billion VND to take care of Tet for hundreds of thousands of poor households.
In the 2024 Giap Thin Lunar New Year alone, more than 143 billion VND was mobilized and gifts were given to over 132,000 households. In the 2023-2024 period, Nghe An province mobilized and supported the construction and repair of more than 11,787 houses for the poor and disadvantaged with a total resource of over 843 billion VND.
“This is a meaningful activity, contributing to sharing some of the difficulties, adding motivation for poor households and households in difficult circumstances to have a warm, full, happy Tet, and is the most vivid proof of the tradition and good morality of “loving others as you love yourself” full of humanity of Nghe An people” - Mr. Le Hong Vinh said.
Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Hong Vinh acknowledged and deeply thanked the kindness and noble gestures of domestic and foreign agencies, organizations, units and individuals, especially enterprises and businessmen, who, despite many difficult conditions, have actively responded and helped the poor and poor households through the "For the Poor" Fund at all levels and social security programs.
Up to now, all 20/20 districts, cities and towns in Nghe An province have organized early Spring activities to give Tet gifts to the poor. 20,456 gifts (equivalent to more than 12.36 billion VND) have been given to poor households, near-poor households, households in especially difficult circumstances, and patients with serious illnesses in hospitals.
According to the plan, from now until January 22, 2025 (December 23), 100% of poor households in Nghe An will receive Tet gifts.
