This information was announced by Mr. Vu Minh Tuan at a press conference on the expected agenda of the 8th session of the 15th National Assembly this afternoon (October 20).
According to the Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Office, the 8th session of the 15th National Assembly will hold a preparatory meeting and solemnly open on October 21, and is expected to close on the morning of November 30, in the form of a concentrated meeting at the National Assembly House.
The 8th session will be held in 2 phases: Phase 1: from October 21 to November 13, 2024; Phase 2: from November 20 to the morning of November 30, in which the National Assembly will work 4 Saturdays. The total working time of the session is expected to be 29.5 days.
At this session, the National Assembly will spend most of its time on law-making, supreme supervision, consideration and decision on socio-economic issues and a number of other important issues.
The National Assembly will consider and pass 15 laws, including: Law on Notarization (amended); Law on Trade Unions (amended); Law on Cultural Heritage (amended); Law on Geology and Minerals; Law on Prevention and Combat of Human Trafficking (amended); Law on Fire Prevention, Fighting and Rescue; Law on People's Air Defense, etc.
The National Assembly will also consider and approve three legal resolutions.
In addition, the National Assembly will review and comment on 13 draft laws, including the Electricity Law (amended); Public Investment Law (amended); Chemical Law (amended); Teachers Law; Law on Management and Investment of State Capital in Enterprises; Special Consumption Tax Law (amended); Corporate Income Tax Law (amended); Employment Law (amended)...
Mr. Vu Minh Tuan also said that at the 8th session, the National Assembly will also consider and decide on socio-economic issues, state budget, supervision and other important issues;
Review reports on judicial work, anti-corruption, crime prevention and control, and law violation monitoring results, the handling of voters' petitions, citizen reception, petition handling, and the settlement of citizens' complaints and denunciations, including:
Review the Report of the Supervisory Delegation and review and approve the Resolution of the National Assembly on the results of the thematic supervision of "Implementation of policies and laws on real estate market management and social housing development from 2015 to the end of 2023".
Reviewing personnel work under its authority; Reviewing and deciding on the establishment of Hue city directly under the Central Government; Reviewing and deciding on investment policies; Reviewing and deciding on investment policies for the National Target Program on Drug Prevention and Control until 2030 (if eligible); Reviewing and deciding on investment policies for the North-South high-speed railway project.
