Government Inspector General Doan Hong Phong has responded to the petitions of voters from several provinces sent before the 7th session of the 15th National Assembly.
Accordingly, Da Nang voters reflected that the declaration of assets and income of people holding positions and powers in agencies, organizations and units is carried out annually and submitted to the competent management agency according to Decree 130/2020.
However, recently, there have been many cases where, after being searched by the police, a huge amount of undeclared assets of unknown origin were discovered. Therefore, voters recommend that this issue should be directed and implemented more seriously.
Responding to this issue, Government Inspector General Doan Hong Phong stated that effective control of assets and income is an important solution in preventing and combating negative corruption, in line with the policy set forth in the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.
Recently, our Party and State have had many regulations and measures in the management of asset declaration, verification of assets and income of people holding positions and powers in agencies, organizations and units.
Pursuant to the 2018 Law on Anti-Corruption, Decree 130/2020 of the Government stipulates the control of assets and income of persons holding positions and powers in agencies, organizations, units and the coordination regulations between agencies controlling assets and income issued in Decision 56/2022 of the Politburo.
At the same time, to tighten regulations on asset declaration to contribute to strengthening the prevention and fight against corruption and negativity, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 390/2022 approving the Project "Building a National Database on Asset and Income Control".
This is important data in preventing and fighting corruption to modernize and digitalize asset and income control work.
Currently, the Government Inspectorate is making efforts to carry out the tasks of Project 390/2022 in general and to build a national database on asset and income control nationwide in particular.
Over the years, the Government Inspector General said that the Government and the Prime Minister have regularly directed relevant agencies to coordinate, research, and develop reports and projects to submit to the Politburo and the Secretariat for promulgation and direction.
The Government Inspectorate has also issued guidance documents and ministries, branches and localities have issued plans and implemented the verification of assets and income for those who are required to declare assets and income in the form of random selection.
In the first 6 months of 2024, 282,826 people declared their assets and income; 2,518 people had their asset and income declarations verified; 4 people were disciplined for dishonest asset and income declarations.
In the coming time, the Government Inspectorate and competent agencies in controlling assets and income will continue to advise and seriously and effectively implement the control of assets and income of people with positions and powers according to regulations.
