To celebrate the 81st anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2026) and National Day September 2 (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2026), on the afternoon of August 18, in Hanoi, General Secretary, President To Lam, Secretary of the Central Military Commission and the Central Working Delegation visited and worked with Motorized Infantry Division 308, Army Corps 12 (Ministry of National Defense).
Accompanying him were Politburo members: Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Chairman of the Central Inspection Committee Tran Sy Thanh; Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda and Training Commission Trinh Van Quyet; Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Internal Affairs Commission Le Minh Tri; Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of National Defense, General Phan Van Giang; Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army, General Nguyen Trong Nghia; Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Tran Duc Thang.
After directly inspecting some aspects of work and listening to reports, speaking at the working session, on behalf of the Party and State leaders, the Central Military Commission, General Secretary and President To Lam acknowledged, highly appreciated and warmly praised the achievements and results that generations of officers and soldiers of Division 308 have achieved throughout the journey of construction, combat and growth, according to VNA.
General Secretary and President emphasized that officers and soldiers of Division 308 must continue to deeply engrave Uncle Ho's words, preserve and promote them to turn pride into will and action; once "pioneering", continue to "pioneer".
If previous generations were pioneers in fighting to gain and maintain the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, today's generation of cadres and soldiers must continue: Pioneering in building a revolutionary, regular, elite, and modern Army; pioneering in training and combat readiness; pioneering in developing science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation; pioneering in building a regular army, complying with discipline and law, and pioneering in mastering modern weapons and technical equipment, pioneering in performing three functions: combat army, working army, and labor production army.
The General Secretary and President noted that we are living in a world that is changing very quickly, is complex and uncertain. Our country is entering a new era of development with very big goals and very high aspirations. To develop quickly and sustainably, it is necessary to maintain a peaceful and stable environment. To have sustainable peace, there must be potential and strength to protect peace. Therefore, the task of building the Army, consolidating national defense, and protecting the Fatherland sets new, higher, more proactive, and more effective requirements.
Creating breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation and digital transformation
General Secretary and President To Lam requested the Party Committee, commanders and all officers and soldiers of Division 308 to build a truly politically strong division, absolutely loyal to the Party, the Fatherland and the people; to especially value political education, ideological leadership, and traditional education; to make officers and soldiers imbued with Uncle Ho's ideology, morality, methods, and style, proud of tradition, promote responsibility, always maintain firm political bravery, have absolute faith in the Party's leadership, have high fighting spirit, be ready to receive and complete tasks well in all situations, making the cultural value of "Uncle Ho's Soldiers" increasingly shine.
The General Secretary and President requested to create a breakthrough in science, technology, innovation and digital transformation in the division. The division must encourage officers and soldiers to research, initiate, and improve techniques; apply digital technology to command, management, training and technical assurance.
Young cadres, union members, and youth must be the shock force; a new spirit must be formed in the division: Not afraid of new technology, not afraid of difficulties, proactively learning new things, mastering new things and turning new things into the combat strength of the unit.
General Secretary and President To Lam emphasized that building regularity and solid disciplinary management go hand in hand with ensuring a good material and spiritual life for soldiers.
The division must regularly maintain a strong relationship with local Party committees and authorities; be closely linked to the people, and perform well the functions of a working army and a production labor army.
